This interactive course is designed for players of the Native flute who have basic through intermediate experience with the instrument. Attendees should be comfortable playing the basic scale and have some experience playing songs or improvising.
Continue your musical exploration beyond the basics with the Native American style flute. Develop your improvisation skills and expressiveness. Try some new techniques!
In this four-session course we continue building skills on this beautiful, haunting, meditative, exciting instrument, including:
- Playing expressively, working more with ornaments and embellishments
- Learn new scales
- Improving our improvisation
- Creating our own songs
Important: A Native flute is NOT provided in the course fee. You will need to have a standard 6-hole pentatonic Native flute for this class. The key of A-minor is recommended. Contact Cornell for recommendations if you need to purchase a flute.
